Leadership

The Local Food Action Plan Lewiston Auburn is coordinated by the Good Food Council of Lewiston Auburn with support from St. Mary’s Nutrition Center. The Good Food Council of Lewiston-Auburn (GFCLA) was formed in 2012 to create and support improvements to the food system of the Lewiston-Auburn community. The GFCLA vision: that Lewiston-Auburn will become a community with a thriving food system that supports healthy people and neighborhoods and a strong local economy. We envision a community bustling with people sharing good food that is healthy, affordable, and accessible, and that honors the enduring values, rich cultural heritage and diverse needs of our population.

The GFCLA Mission: Through education, advocacy, and community-based decision-making we work to shape a food system where our entire community of Lewiston-Auburn has access to good food.

Leads

Each action has an Action Team to successfully complete and/or significantly advance the work. Action Teams have Leads that convene the team and report progress to the full planning committee. Other organizations serve as Supporters for Action Teams and may be involved actively, consulted, or just kept informed based on their interest, expertise, or overlapping initiatives.
